Valencia Vikings Marching Band and Color Guard 2012 Montage in 3D!!

Posted by on / 0 Comments

This was the year I got ambitious and shot most of the show using a 3d/stereo rig for the GoPros. It was brutal. Twice the data, twice the everything. Plus, having never produced anything in Stereo- it was quite the learning expereince. This is the anaglyphic output… get your red/blue glasses to watch it. I...

This is the non-stereo version of the 2012 montage. Lots of fun in Hawaii, I had some of the guys wear GoPros for the Diamond Head Crater hike.

Valencia Vikings Marching Band and Color Guard 2011 Montage

It’s interesting for me to look at these videos now from a few years worth of perspective. I notice that in these earlier years I had a lot more of the side events that surrounded the band as opposed to show performance. I think my first 2 years were kind of like that. But then...

Valencia Vikings Marching Band and Color Guard 2010 Montage

This was our first year as a “band family”, it took me awhile to find a style for editing these things, I liked the paneled approach because I could show more kids… but it made for quadrupling the edits in some cases- as you can see. I remember thinking- wow- that was a ton of...

Bethany (1989)

I wrote this story in the first week I lived in Los Angeles. It was before “Ecstasy” hit the masses. I remember drinking about 4 pots of coffee in my crappy room that I was renting at 27th and Normandy in Compton. 1989… yep kind of freaky. Anyway- it needs to be noted that...

The Space Between Numbers (2009)

This story is based on dreams that I was having at the time. (As most of my stories are). I was lucky enough to have a friend, Ken Ricci, give me a few pointers on what I thought was my final draft. So as a tribute to his insights, I changed the name of the...

Final Days

The following is a recollection of my thoughts that detail the two years following my father’s cancer diagnosis. I present it in its original, unedited state…. more out of a respect for the integrity of accuracy. But I also feel compelled to point out that my feelings towards my sisters is not what I...

Dream Party (2005)

This story contains content that is definitely NC-17. It is not for kids.. enjoy! We arrived at the party around 9:30pm. There was a decisive frat-boy feel to the whole affair; one that I always found slightly offensive. Sure there were beautiful women, lots of alcohol and a decent share of illicit drugs- but the...

Baseball, Hotdogs, and Assholes Driving Chevrolets (2002)

This is an open letter to the Asshole Corvette Driver that ran me off the road a few months back. Now before all of the rest of you GOD-Fearing, Self-Respecting-Not-Speeding-AND- Staying-on-Your-Side-of-the-Road-Corvette-Owners get your panties in a bunch…. deep breath. Breathe. Again. Now. Now that we are all calmed down- this letter is to a very...

Plurality (2007)

I first became aware of the “plurality” of dimensions on a walk one night. It came, unbidden, as a sudden rush forward not unlike the comic book depiction of The Flash at full speed. A kind of motion blur tug from the center of my body – very similar to that first moment the rollercoaster...

The Tragically Short Span of the Human Mating and Life Cycles (2006)

(And the End of Life as We Know It) “Now, as we can see from the data plotted out from the last nearly 4,000 years, we are currently experiencing the lowest population growth in the history of mankind. It is my belief that we have actually passed zero growth for the first time ever and...

Absolutely quality template. This template is a way more powerful than it looks like at first. Template has hidden features and it is very flexible. This is the best template I have ever downloaded from Themeforest, without a doubt. Great quality coding. Top notch responsiveness and customizable. Good support by AzeLab team.

Jan. 2, 2017 Okay - so wow 2017. A whole new year. Not sure what my "resolutions" really are- but here are a few: I am going to hike Mt Whitney with my son this year. I'm "in training" as of now. I know I need to ease into this whole thing- I haven't been living too cleanly for a long time.  So now it's time to get my shit together. My plan right now is kind of simple at this exact moment. Stop drinking, first and foremost, and then exercise more. I am going to try to adhere to a few simple rules- like one hour a day - dedicated to moving/exercising/walking etc I want to accomplish something every day- so this will serve as the default accomplishment. Other things I would like to accomplish? Chores around the house, tasks that I have been avoiding- like insulating the garage door for sound and temperature.... (DONE bitches! I did that yesterday), or getting control of my passwords- consolidating and making more secure... DONE - just spent the whole day doing that. So I am two for two on that.... I wanted to also start some sort  of journal for this year. Documenting my progress etc. I think if I do that I might be more focused overall. So, I'm gonna try to write here as often as possible. More later
